General Practitioners Under Pressure

A BBC report this week highlights recent analysis by the Nuffield Trust think tank that the number of General Practitioner’s (GP) per 100,000 people in the UK has fallen from nearly 65 in 2014 to 60 last year.

While it may be possible to present different view points on the accuracy of the data or the methodology used, the underlying trend is unmistakably worrying. For GP’s though the more pressure they are put under, the increased risk there will be of innocent mistakes being made.

Let’s not forget GP’s do a fantastic job and their contribution to the well being of the nation is often under valued.
